Terms of Service

Effective Date: 08/30/2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Alta Vista Holiday Lighting website and your interactions with Alta Vista Holiday Lighting LLC, doing business as Alta Vista Holiday Lighting (“Alta Vista,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website, submitting a form, requesting an estimate, or communicating with Alta Vista, you acknowledge these Terms of Service.

Submitting an estimate request does not require you to purchase services and does not create a service contract. A service contract is created only when the customer signs or electronically approves a proposal provided by Alta Vista.

Specific customer projects are governed by the customer’s approved proposal and our Standard Service Agreement. If these Terms conflict with an approved proposal or Standard Service Agreement, the approved proposal and Standard Service Agreement will control.

2. Scope of Services

Alta Vista provides professional residential and commercial holiday and seasonal exterior-lighting services, which may include:

  • Design and consultation

  • Lighting and décor

  • Installation

  • Seasonal maintenance

  • Takedown

  • Labeling, packaging, and storage

The specific scope of work, materials, design, pricing, and services included in a project will be identified in the customer’s proposal before work begins.

3. Estimates, Pricing, and Payment

Pricing varies based on factors such as property size, roof height and complexity, design selections, materials, trees and landscaping, accessibility, electrical access, and installation difficulty.

Estimates may be prepared using property photographs, aerial measurements, customer-provided information, plans, or an on-site evaluation.

Unless otherwise stated in the approved proposal:

  • A 50% deposit is required to approve the project, reserve installation availability, and purchase or allocate materials.

  • The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion of the installation.

  • Additional work or changes requested after approval may result in additional charges.

We accept check, major credit or debit cards, and other approved electronic payment methods.

Complete payment and cancellation terms are contained in the approved proposal and Standard Service Agreement.

4. Scheduling and Weather

Installation and takedown dates may be provided as estimated service windows rather than guaranteed dates.

Dates may be adjusted because of rain, snow, ice, wind, unsafe roof conditions, property access, product availability, or other circumstances beyond Alta Vista’s reasonable control.

Alta Vista will make reasonable efforts to notify customers of material delays and reschedule services as soon as safely practical.

5. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when requesting an estimate.

  • Ensure the property is reasonably accessible on scheduled service dates.

  • Notify Alta Vista of hazards, loose shingles, damaged gutters, electrical issues, underground systems, pets, security systems, or obstacles that may affect the work.

  • Provide accessible and functional outdoor electrical outlets.

  • Ensure the property has sufficient electrical capacity for the approved display.

  • Obtain any required property-owner, landlord, condominium, or homeowners-association approval.

  • Keep people, pets, vehicles, and personal property away from active work areas.

  • Avoid altering, moving, unplugging, or allowing another party to service the installed lighting system without notifying Alta Vista.

6. Changes to a Project

Changes to an approved design, materials, quantities, or scope of work may affect the project price and schedule.

Any substantial change must be approved by the customer and Alta Vista in writing before the additional or modified work is performed.

7. Materials and Ownership

Unless otherwise stated in the approved proposal, lighting and décor purchased as part of the customer’s package become the customer’s property after full payment.

Future-season installation, maintenance, takedown, and storage are separate seasonal services and will be priced or confirmed before each season.

Alta Vista is not responsible for the condition, compatibility, performance, or lifespan of customer-supplied lighting or décor. Additional charges may apply if customer-supplied products require unexpected preparation, repair, replacement, or additional labor.

8. Seasonal Maintenance

Reasonable seasonal maintenance is included for lighting and décor supplied and installed by Alta Vista during the applicable display season.

Covered maintenance may include:

  • Replacing failed bulbs or components

  • Securing loose clips or displaced strands

  • Adjusting timers

  • Correcting connection issues resulting from Alta Vista’s installation

Customers should notify Alta Vista promptly after discovering an issue.

Complimentary maintenance does not cover damage or failures caused by customer or third-party interference, customer-supplied products, animals, pests, landscaping work, contractors, vehicles, vandalism, theft, defective outlets, inadequate electrical service, severe weather, or circumstances outside Alta Vista’s reasonable control.

Additional charges may apply to excluded repairs.

9. Takedown and Storage

Takedown is included when stated in the customer’s approved proposal.

Takedown is scheduled within Alta Vista’s seasonal removal period and may be affected by weather, frozen materials, property access, and crew safety.

When storage is included, Alta Vista will remove, label, package, and store the lighting system. If storage is not included, the products will be prepared for customer storage.

Additional charges may apply if property changes, inaccessible areas, landscaping, construction, frozen materials, or third-party alterations substantially increase the removal work.

10. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Cancellation and refund terms are governed by the approved proposal, Standard Service Agreement, and applicable law.

If a customer cancels after project-specific materials have been ordered, cut, prepared, or allocated, the related costs may be deducted from any available refund.

Customer-requested rescheduling is subject to seasonal availability and may result in a later installation date or service window.

11. Property Conditions and Liability

Alta Vista will take reasonable precautions to perform services safely and carefully and maintains general liability insurance applicable to its operations.

Alta Vista is not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing, concealed, or deteriorated property conditions

  • Loose or damaged roofing, gutters, trim, siding, or masonry

  • Defective outlets or electrical systems

  • Electrical issues unrelated to our installation

  • Damage or interference caused by weather, animals, customers, contractors, landscapers, vehicles, or other third parties

  • Service interruptions caused by power outages, insufficient electrical capacity, defective outlets, or unauthorized changes

Additional responsibility and limitation terms are contained in the Standard Service Agreement.

12. Electrical Service

Customers are responsible for providing functional and suitable electrical outlets and sufficient electrical capacity unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Alta Vista does not perform permanent electrical modifications as part of its holiday-lighting services.

Electrical defects or work outside the approved scope may require service from a properly qualified electrician before installation or operation can continue.

13. Photographs and Marketing

Alta Vista may photograph completed exterior displays for documentation, quality control, portfolio, website, social-media, and advertising purposes unless the customer opts out in writing before installation.

Alta Vista will not intentionally publish customer names, exact residential addresses, vehicle license plates, home interiors, or other identifying personal information without permission.

14. Website Information and Third-Party Links

Alta Vista makes reasonable efforts to keep information on this website accurate and current. However, website descriptions, examples, photographs, availability, and general pricing information do not constitute a final project proposal or guarantee.

This website may contain links to third-party websites, payment processors, social-media platforms, or service providers. Alta Vista does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security, or privacy practices of third-party websites.

15. Privacy and Communications

Alta Vista uses customer information for estimates, scheduling, payments, service delivery, customer support, project administration, and future seasonal follow-up.

We do not sell customer information. Information may be shared with service providers when reasonably necessary to process payments, manage scheduling, operate the website, or provide services.

Please review our Privacy Policy for additional information.

16. Changes to These Terms

Alta Vista may update these Terms periodically. Updated Terms will be posted on this website with a revised effective date.

Updated Terms apply prospectively and will not replace the terms of an already approved proposal or agreement unless the customer and Alta Vista agree otherwise in writing.
