AltaVista Holiday Lighting – Service Agreement

This Service Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by and between AltaVista Holiday Lighting (“AltaVista,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and the undersigned customer (“Customer”) for professional holiday lighting installation, maintenance, and removal services.

1. Deposit & Payment Terms

1.1. A 50% deposit is required to reserve materials and secure an installation date.
1.2. The deposit is refunded only if AltaVista cancels prior to installation.
1.3. The remaining 50% balance is due immediately upon completion of installation.
1.4. Invoices are due upon receipt. Failure to pay may result in service delays or removal of materials.
1.5. Customer agrees to pay reasonable collection costs in cases of non-payment.

2. Ownership of Materials (Seasonal Lease)

2.1. All lights, wiring, clips, timers, and accessories remain the property of AltaVista.
2.2. Customer is leasing the lighting system for the holiday season.
2.3. AltaVista will remove and store the materials at the end of the season.
2.4. Unauthorized removal, relocation, alteration, or tampering with AltaVista materials is prohibited and may incur additional charges.

3. Installation & Removal

3.1. AltaVista will install all lighting in a safe, professional, and workmanlike manner.
3.2. Takedown is included in the service fee and will generally occur in January unless otherwise arranged.
3.3. Customer grants AltaVista access to the property as needed for installation, maintenance, and removal.

4. Maintenance & Service Guarantee

4.1. AltaVista guarantees all leased lighting will remain operational for the duration of the season.
4.2. If bulbs, strands, connections, or clips fail under normal conditions, AltaVista will repair or replace them at no cost to the Customer.
4.3. This guarantee does not cover repairs required due to:

  • Tampering or modifications by Customer or third parties

  • Damage from pets, landscapers, contractors, vehicles, etc.

  • Severe weather, storms, or power issues

4.4. Repairs needed due to causes outside AltaVista’s control may incur additional charges.

5. Customer Responsibilities

5.1. Customer must ensure clear access to installation areas.
5.2. Customer must provide functional outdoor GFCI-protected outlets.
5.3. Customer is responsible for ensuring adequate electrical capacity at their property.
5.4. Customer agrees to keep landscaping reasonably trimmed for installation access.

6. Scheduling & Weather

6.1. Installations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
6.2. Weather or unsafe conditions may cause delays in installation or takedown.
6.3. AltaVista is not liable for delays caused by weather, power outages, or unforeseen circumstances.

7. Liability & Limitations

7.1. AltaVista carries liability insurance and takes all reasonable precautions during installation and removal.
7.2. Customer acknowledges that clips, ladders, and installation tools may cause minor, unavoidable wear to roofing, gutters, siding, or landscaping.
7.3. AltaVista is not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing roof, gutter, or electrical issues

  • Damage caused by faulty outlets or inadequate power supply

  • Damage resulting from severe weather or acts of God

7.4. Customer agrees to indemnify AltaVista from claims arising from property conditions outside AltaVista’s control.

8. Photo Permission

Customer grants AltaVista permission to photograph lighting displays for promotional use. Photos will never include identifying personal information or interiors.

9. Termination


9.1. Either party may terminate this Agreement in writing at least 7 business days prior to the scheduled installation date.
9.2. If Customer cancels within 7 business days of installation, or after materials have been reserved or installation has begun, the deposit is forfeited.
9.3. If AltaVista cancels, the deposit will be fully refunded.

10. Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the full understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior discussions. No modification is valid unless agreed to in writing.
